Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-yoku is the practice of immersing yourself in nature; ‘bathing’ in the awesome goodness that trees release into the atmosphere called ‘phytoncides’ and receiving mental calmness from the fractal patterns, vibrant shades of green and calming blues around us.
Every month we have the opportunity to ‘forest bathe’ under a new full moon. The land sounds different and certainly looks different and our senses are heightened in the new light we experience during a session.
|LOCATION||Loch Garten, Loch Mallachie Car Park|
|REQUIREMENTS||Please dress for the weather. During a Forest Bathing session you can expect to be out for about 1.5–2 hours and I will guide you through a series of invitations aimed at opening your senses and reconnecting you with yourself and the environment around you.
|DISABLED ACCESS||From the car park we walk about 300m to the start and can walk up to a mile during the session on rough forest tracks. Forest tracks, narrow and tree roots. Not suitable for wheelchairs or scooters.|
