GREEN HEALTH WEEK 2022 Give Nature A Go, 14th - 22nd May

Green Health is all about people connecting to nature and the outdoors in whatever way brings them benefits for their health and wellbeing.

This Green Health Week we are encouraging you to step outside, connect with and enjoy the Cairngorms National Park and give nature a go! Whether you’re experiencing nature near your doorstep, or something further afield, there are lots of ways to feel good. Green Health Week is a promotional campaign and part of NatureScot’s ‘Our Natural Health Service’ initiative. In partnership with Think Health Think Nature, we aim to highlight that everyone, regardless of age, ability or other circumstances, should be able to access Scotland’s fantastic natural environment and in doing so, improve their health and well-being.

'This Green Health Week we are encouraging you to step outside, connect with and enjoy the Cairngorms National Park and give nature a go!'

We all know that fresh air is good for us but there is growing evidence that being outside, surrounded by nature, helps improve our health in many ways: it guards against health issues like type-2 diabetes, stroke and heart disease, it improves sleep, reduces stress, helps boost our mood and self-esteem and provides meaningful social contact.

So, whether it’s coming along to one of the many Health Walks in the Park, or dropping into a forest bathing session, there will be something for you! And if you can’t attend one of our events, why not do something for yourself - walk to work instead of taking the car, enjoy five minutes listening to the birds, eat your lunch outside. Whatever you do, any amount of time spent in nature, is time well spent! Further information on events and how to get involved can be found on the Think Health Think Nature website.
